In Memory of Ken Calcatera

Ken Calcatera

Ken Calcatera was born in Norway, MI on May 7, 1929. He graduated from Florida Tech in 1972 with a MS in Contract Acquisition. He spent a career in the Army (26 years) as an artillery man, staff officer at Army and Joint Commands, aviator (both fixed and rotary wing) commander of artillery and aviation units thru the rank of Colonel. Ken was a staff member at the Army Command and General Staff College and Director of Procurement at the Army Aviation Systems Command. He did two tours of duty in Korea and one in Viet Nam. After retiring, Ken went to work in the aerospace industry for 12 years.

Ken was a member of the Board of Directors for the Florida Tech Alumni Association for two terms; 2005-2007 and 2008-2010. He served on the University Relations committee and was passionate about helping his alma mater whenever he could. Ken was also passionate about helping University Park Elementary School which has a partnership with Florida Tech.

Ken enjoyed golfing, fishing and traveling.
